About St Andrews Links
Welcome to St Andrews Links, the Home of Golf, where the game has been nurtured and developed for 600 years. This is the official website of St Andrews Links Trust which manages the seven golf courses, including the Old Course, host of the 2010 Open Championship, that make up the largest public golf complex in Europe.
The Links is a special place which embodies the values and traditions of golf. Golfers from around the world aspire to come here to follow in the footsteps of nearly all of the legends of the game. The Old Course has hosted The Open Championship 28 times, more than any other venue, and it will return in 2015. The likes of Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros and Tiger Woods have won Open Championships here and spoken of their warm affection for the Old Course.
While the Old Course is at the heart of St Andrews Links there is much more to this hallowed ground than just one golf course. Four of the Links courses were ranked in the prestigious Golf Digest Top 100 rankings, with the Old being joined by the New, Jubilee and Castle courses. The quality and variety of golf here is unrivalled.
These courses are open to all and with the Eden Course being suited to players looking for a more relaxed challenge and the Strathtyrum and Balgove courses catering for less experienced and junior golfers, there is something for golfers of all abilities. The coaching, custom fit and practice facilities at St Andrews Links Golf Academy are second to none and enable golfers to learn the game or perfect their skills in historic surroundings.
Official Old Course, St Andrews Links, Home of Golf, Castle Course and Tom Morris golfwear, gift packs and merchandise are available from the Old Course Shop, the 18th Green Shop, the St Andrews Links Clubhouse Shop, The Castle Course Clubhouse Shop and the Tom Morris Shop. They can also be purchased online from this website.
We hope this website will help you plan your visit to the Home of Golf, book your tee times, purchase golf gifts or just find out more about St Andrews Links and the place where golf was first played six centuries ago.
