Links commits to international environmental accreditation25/01/2010

St Andrews Links has become one of the first golf venues committed to achieving GEO Certification, the internationally recognised accreditation from the Golf Environment Organisation (GEO).

Unified waiting list update19/01/2010

580 applications were received to join the new unified waiting list for St Andrews Links Tickets which will become active on April 1.

A draw was carried out on December 1 by St Andrews Links Trust Chairman Peter Forster, Links Management Committee Chairman Dr John Mills and Trustee Kate Ferguson. The applicants have until January 31 to pay a £100 deposit to confirm their place on the list.

 

Courses update18/01/2010

The Old, New, Jubilee, Eden, Strathtyrum and Balgove courses are now open as normal following the disruption caused by the weather.

Madras College thanks the Links15/12/2009

Madras College pupils have thanked St Andrews Links Trust for its help in building a state of the art organic vegetable garden at Kilrymont Road in St Andrews. The Links provided five tonnes of quality soil for the raised beds.

Links Ticket prices 201007/12/2009

St Andrews Links Trustees decided to freeze Links Ticket prices for 2010. This means that a Full Resident Ticket, which entitles the holder to play golf on all seven of the Links courses, will remain at £170. The move follows a decision by Trustees to freeze visitor green fees for 2010.

BBC Unsung Hero award 201004/12/2009

Willie McNair from Oakley received the BBC Unsung Hero 2009 award at the Old Course today. The trophy was presented by St Andrews Links Finance Director, Euan MacGregor. Willie has been cutting golf clubs to size and providing coaching for junior golfers in his free time for the last 34 years.


New championship 17th tee on the Old Course completed30/11/2009

Work has been completed on constructing the new championship tee on the 17th hole of the Old Course ahead of the 150th anniversary Open Championship next year. The new tee is 35 yards back from the current tee on the same playing line and takes the length of the hole to 490 yards.

Old Course Road Hole to be Lengthened Ahead of 2010 Open Championship at St Andrews16/10/2009

The 17th hole of the Old Course will be lengthened ahead of the 150th Anniversary of The Open Championship at St Andrews. The ‘Road Hole’, which has remained the same length for more than 100 years, will increase in length by some 35 yards to 490 yards. A new Championship tee will be constructed on the practice range of St Andrews Links Trust.
