Brooks Brothers and St Andrews Links have entered into a worldwide partnership for Brooks Brothers, as the "Official Partner of St Andrews Links," to produce a collection of apparel and accessories to launch Spring 2011.

(New York, NY – March 18, 2010)  - Brooks Brothers and St Andrews Links have entered into a long term worldwide partnership for Brooks Brothers, as the “Official Partner of St Andrew Links,” to produce a collection of apparel and accessories to launch Spring 2011.

Brooks Brothers, America’s oldest clothier joins forces with St Andrews Links, the Home of Golf, to produce, market and distribute a co-branded collection of men’s and women’s sportswear and accessories.  The collection will launch in Spring 2011.

Brooks Brothers will manage all product design, development and distribution activities in partnership with St Andrews Links, and the collection will be distributed worldwide through Brooks Brothers’ retail stores, catalogues, and website, as well as in select on-course and off-course retail locations.  The collection will also be featured at St Andrews in The Old Course Shop and on its online shop.

In advance of the Spring 2011 launch, Brooks Brothers has created a limited edition men’s polo shirt commemorating The 2010 Open Championship (known in the US as The British Open).  The performance pique polo shirt will be uniquely numbered from 1 to 2010 and is available in royal blue, honouring the 2010 Open.  The polo will be on sale at The Old Course Shop (St Andrews, Scotland) in April and at select Brooks Brothers stores in June.

Alan McGregor, Chief Executive of St Andrews Links Trust, said, “The Links is known around the world as the Home of Golf and we are pleased to be working with a company of Brooks Brothers’ stature which values heritage and tradition.  Brooks Brothers has an excellent reputation for its clothing collections and we are looking forward to working with them to produce the St Andrews Links collection.”

Claudio Del Vecchio, Chairman and CEO of Brooks Brothers, said, “It’s the perfect pairing of two legendary brands.  Brooks Brothers’ iconic products with St Andrews’ unparalleled history in the world of golf makes it a winning combination.  The opportunities to expand both brands’ reach and visibility is tremendous.”

Brooks Brothers has a long history with the world of golf, having created its first golf collection in 1890.  The company currently has PGA tour player Scott Verplank as its golf ambassador.  The company also serves as the Official Apparel Sponsor of the PGA St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tennessee.

St Andrews Links comprises seven public golf courses at the Home of Golf including the world famous Old Course, which will play host to the 150th anniversary of The Open Championship from July 15-18, 2010, and The Castle Course which opened in 2008.

The arrangement was facilitated by CPLG Sport, the exclusive commercial partner of St Andrews Links.
