St Andrews Links’ greenkeeping department has taken delivery of two top of the range sprayers which will give an even greater accuracy of application than is currently achieved.
The new Gambetti spraying equipment has been fitted to existing Toro Workman vehicles and is now being used on the seven courses at St Andrews Links.
Gordon Moir, Director of Greenkeeping, said ‘Spraying is one of the more common and most important operations we do. Although the vast majority of chemicals we use are completely safe, such as seaweeds and wetting agents, correct application rates are vital to get the best out of the product as well as not wasting money by applying too much or too little. Gambetti have worked very closely with us to customise the new sprayers for our specific requirements and they fit the bill perfectly - with the GPS system able to track where the operator has sprayed and also being able to record that is simply the icing on the cake.’
