St Andrews Links Junior Golf Association (SALJGA), which has helped introduce almost 1,500 juniors to the game, has launched a vibrant new website keeping it up to date with the latest technology.
The new site, www.saljga.com, follows the launch of the new St Andrews Links website in January. St Andrews Links Trust set up the association after a meeting with local golf clubs in 2001 and now more than 300 children who attend school in St Andrews participate in its programme of events each year.
‘The new site is fresh and modern and makes the most of the many highlights in the SALJGA calendar’ said Nick Randerson, Junior Golf Co-ordinator for SALJGA. ‘One of the main features of the site is the large image gallery which captures the best moments of the season and all the latest draws results and news are also readily available. SALJGA created its own Facebook page last year which has been another great way to engage with junior golfers.’
SALJGA members have played in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and have been national champions, including recent achievements by Ewen Scott who became the first Scottish player to win the Reid Trophy and Rachel Hanlon who won the Strathtyrum Trophy. Nick said ‘What SALJGA does really well is provide a high standard of coaching to kids of all ages and abilities, providing them with the skills needed to take the game further. The website is another means of communicating that success and keeping the kids involved’.
