NEW LMC CHAIRMAN AT THE LINKS TRUST22/01/2002

The Links Management Committee (LMC) of St Andrews Links Trust elected a new chairman, Jim White, at its first meeting of the year. Mr White takes over from Mr Alistair Nicoll who retired after three years in the chair and eight years on the LMC.

Mr White joined the LMC in 1998 as a Royal and Ancient Golf Club nominee. He is a member of the Royal and Ancient and New Golf Clubs and was captain of the New in 1988. He is also a member of Nairn Golf Club. He is manager of the Dunfermline Building Society in St Andrews where he has lived for over 20 years.

The Fife Council nominee to replace Mr Nicoll is Mr Drew Renwick. Mr Renwick has been a member of the New Club for 19 years, and is currently the Club's Junior Convenor. He is on the Committee and a volunteer coach for the St Andrews Links Junior Golf Association and is involved in the town's under 14s football team, the St Andrews Colts. Originally from Glasgow, Mr Renwick has lived in St Andrews since 1987 and is a sales manager with Carlsberg Tetley.

Also Cllr Peter Douglas was re-nominated by Fife Council and Mr Dennis Matthews was re-nominated by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, thereby making the LMC membership for 2002: Jim White (Chairman), John Devlin, Councillor Peter Douglas, John Glover, Councillor Sheila Hill, Dennis Matthews, Drew Renwick, and Ellie Wilson.
