"It's all about enjoying the game," said 21-year-old Scott. "Until I was about 11 years old, I played because it was fun and social and I just wanted to get out there and hit the ball as far as I could. Many young Australians would give anything to be able to learn the game here in St Andrews, where it all started."
Once Scott started concentrating on his handicap he did so with astonishing results - playing off scratch by the time he was 15 years old and turning professional in 2000. Now under the guidance of Butch Harmon, coach of Tiger Woods, Scott won his second title in March at the Qatar Masters. His visit to St Andrews was a prelude to two big events in Scotland - the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond and the Open Championship at Muirfield.
