A fleet of electric buggies is now operating on the Links following a new contract with Yamaha. The electric buggies are being used by the on course player's assistants on the Links and virtually noiseless. At night the batteries are recharged in the storage sheds. The bigger vehicles such as the shuttle buggy between the Links Clubhouse and the first tee are still on petrol because of their workload.
"We are delighted that Yamaha is back at St Andrews Links. This is also the first place in Europe where one of our new colour range, blue, has been chosen," said Brian Swinden from Yamaha.
