The extra chapters in the revised edition cover subjects such as the Millennium Open, The World Shotgun 2000 and the new developments on the Links.
"It has been an eventful few years for the Links with many significant events and developments and it was felt they needed to be included in the book to bring it right up to date," said Peter Mason, external relations manager with St Andrews Links Trust which arranged the publishing of the first edition in 1995.
The new edition of St Andrews Links, the First 600 Years is available from the Links and Eden clubhouses, the shop behind the 18th green, priced at £19.95.
Author Tom Jarrett, local historian and former journalist in the town has lived through many of the happenings and events detailed in the book which traces the centuries-old saga of the most famous strip of golfing ground in world.
The 2003 edition of the St Andrews Links Yearbook, is also available at the locations listed above, including the online golf shop, and is priced at £3.95.
