Another glorious day on the Old Course saw England's Nick Dougherty take a big step towards winning in Britain for the first time. He completed a round of 66 to lead the tournament on 17 under par. Best of the day at St Andrews was Anthony Wall, last year's joint runner up, who scored a 65, one off Bradley Dredge's course record. Peter O'Malley is on 14 under, while the group on 13 under includes former winners Paul Lawrie and Padraig Harrington
