Playfair
Sir Hugh Lyon Playfair was Provost of St Andrews from 1842
to 1861 and a captain of the R&A. He did much to reform
the St Andrews of the early 19th century.

Tee Shot
Aim your drive to the right half of the fairway. From this
side you are avoiding going over the deep greenside bunker
to the front of the green.

From the left hand side you are left with a difficult shot.
Club selection is vital. Under-club or over-club and the greenside
bunkers will be waiting to punish the misjudgement.
