10th hole-in-one for local golfer
-
St Andrews golfer, Harry Liddle, celebrated his 84th birthday in style in October. He marked the occasion by scoring his 10th hole-in-one in as many years on the Balgove Course, acing the 8th hole with a seven iron. His first ace was on the 5th hole back in 1993, just after the 9-hole course opened after being remodelled.

Originally from Northumberland, Harry has been playing golf for 60 years and has been a member of the St Andrews Golf Club for 50 years. He knows the turf like the back of his hand, playing a round on the Balgove or the Strathtyrum Course almost every morning without fail.

We wish him luck in bagging his 11th ace in 2004.
