Links festive arrangements
The opening and closing times of the clubhouses and the arrangements for course access for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day have been announced more

Links visit from Open champion
Open champion Paul Lawrie visited the Golf Academy today to give a coaching session to junior golfers. Paul is the Honorary President of St Andrews Links Junior Golf Association. 'The facilities at the Academy are just fantastic' said Paul. After coaching the juniors Paul commented: 'I was very impressed with the quality of their games and also the level of enthusiasm in the group.'

4000 entries for naming competition
The naming competition for the seventh course attracted more than 4000 entries from all over the world. Entries were received from countries as far afield as Australia, Argentina, Thailand, Canada and Iceland. The Board of Trustees will decide on the winning name and the decision will be announced in January. More

Seventh course naming contest closes.
The final entries were made by 12 noon today. Thousands of suggestions have been made and all will be considered by the working party charged with making the final decision. The name for the course will be announced in January 2007. We thank all those who took the time and trouble to enter the competition.
