NEW MEMBERS
OF THE LINKS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The St Andrews
Links Management Committee (LMC), the voluntary body which
is responsible for overseeing the running of the golf courses
at St Andrews, welcomed three new members at the beginning
of the year.
Two have been nominated
by Fife Council - Councillor Peter Douglas and John Devlin.
Councillor Douglas represents Crail, Cameron and Kemback and
recently stepped down as chairman of the East Area Development
Committee, a position he held since 1996. A semi-retired Church
of Scotland minister, he is widely known throughout the local
area. He is also a member of the Kingdom of Fife Tourist Board.
Councillor Douglas takes up the place on the LMC which has
been vacant since May 1999.
St Andrews businessman, John Devlin is an active member of
the St Andrews Golf Club and has served on the club's committee
as House Convener. A keen golfer, his current handicap is
5. He takes up the place vacated by Danny Anderson who had
come to the end of his term.
The third new LMC member is Mrs Ellie Wilson of St Andrews.
Nominated by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club, Mrs Wilson
is a member of the St Rule Club where she is Handicap Secretary
on the Golf Committee. Mrs Wilson replaces Ann Moffat who
had completed her four year term.
LMC members Sheila
Hill and Colin Kennedy were re-appointed for a further term
of four years. Trustees Nicola Davidson and Robin Waddell
were re-appointed for a second three year term.

body is now as follows:
Trustees : Bill Ritchie (chairman), Menzies Campbell MP, Robin
Waddell, Duncan Lawrie, Angus Ogilvie, Nicola Davidson, Councillor
John MacDougall and Councillor Frances Melville.
