ON-LINE FOR
THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2000
Official St Andrews
Open 2000 golfwear and gifts are now exclusively available
on-line at www.standrews.org.uk, the website of St Andrews
Links Trust.
In a unique move,
the Links Trust, which manages the golf courses at St Andrews
including the Old Course, teamed up with the Royal & Ancient
Golf Club, which runs the Open Championship, to develop a
special range of products and mementoes for this historic
event.
The result is an
exclusive collection of golfwear and gifts branded with both
logos - the Open Championship Claret Jug and the Links Trust
emblem. The clothing includes luxury cashmere and mercerised
cotton sports shirts, caps and visors, and lambswool sweaters
and pique shirts. In the gift and accessories range are towels,
golf balls, ball markers and golf umbrellas.
"The Trust
was delighted to be able to work together with the R&A
on developing a high quality range for the Millennium Open.
It is such a significant and historic event that we wanted
to create a collection which was extra special," said
Peter Mason, external relations manager with St Andrews Links
Trust.
The St Andrews
Links Golf Shop website offers a completely secure service
with despatch within 48 hours. Customers can track their orders
and are kept updated with progress.
The St Andrews Open 2000 range will be available at the four
official Open outlets in the Open Championship Exhibition
Tent and at other key locations in the tented village, as
well as in the British Golf Museum during the week of the
Open Championship (17-23 July). Outside those dates, it is
on sale in the Trust's three shops in St Andrews - in the
Links Clubhouse, the Eden Clubhouses and the shop behind the
18th green. A selection of the range is also available in
London's world famous store, Harrods, in the 5th floor golf
shop.
