Year round internet booking service for local golfers introduced

Local golfers wishing to reserve a tee time at St Andrews Links up to nine weeks in advance can now do so all year round.

LinksNet Local, an internet booking system only accessible to residents and North-East Fife yearly ticket holders, was set up on a trial basis last summer but following a review of its performance by the Links Management Committee (LMC) of St Andrews Links Trust it will now operate on a permanent basis.

‘The LMC has been very progressive in seeing the advantages of utilising our online system and extending it to local golfers,’ said Links Trust general manager Alan McGregor. ‘LinksNet Local provides local golfers with another simple way of making a booking. It is particularly useful for people who want to ensure a tee time well in advance, for example if they want to play with visiting guests.’

LinksNet Local has been adapted from the LinksNet system, which offers online bookings to visiting golfers from around the world, and can be accessed through the website www.standrews.org.uk.

Between April and September LinksNet Local offers two tee times on the Jubilee between 8am and 9.30am each day and four times on the Eden, with two in the morning and two in the afternoon. From October to March there will be two morning times on each course.

When making a booking golfers will first need to enter their yearly ticket number. There is a £4 booking fee.

Ends.
