The Swilcan Bridge, Old Course

Join an expert guide on a tour of the world's most famous course. Walk in the footsteps of golf's greats and experience a player's eye view of the fabled links.

Suitable for golfers and non-golfer alike, tours take place every hour between 11am and 4pm, starting and ending at the St Andrews Links Golf Shop behind the 18th green of the Old Course.

Walks are scheduled for weekends in June starting on 7-8 June and every day in July and August. The tour takes approximately 40 minutes.

Tickets cost £2.50 per person and should be purchased from the guide on the day.

All tickets include a voucher for a complimentary Old Course scorecard and a voucher giving promotional price entry to the British Golf Museum, which is located only about 100 yards from the Old Course.

With the Old Course busy for play six days a week throughout the summer months, this tour is a great way to see the historic Links from the centuries-old fairways, just as golfers from Old Tom Morris to Tiger Woods have done.

Guided walks can be arranged for other dates for groups of eight or more booking in advance.

A longer tour of the Old Course takes place on Sundays in July and August. Lasting about two hours, the tour will take in notorious features such as Hell Bunker and The Coffins as well as landmarks like High Hole, the most celebrated par 3 in golf. Tours begin at the shop behind the 18th Green at 10am and tickets, priced £5 per person, should be booked in advance by contacting the Links Trust on 01334 466666 or email enquiries@standrews.org.uk

To reserve a lunch table at the Swilcan Restaurant in the Links Clubhouse contact Dorothy Murphy or phone 01334 466666.
